The Aircar prototype has been awarded the first airworthiness certificate by the Slovak Transport Authority and authorities, bringing it one step closer to final production and opening the door to global mass production for the highly efficient flying car maker.Designed by Klein Vision based in Nitra in the western side of Slovakia, the Air Car has room for two passengers and the ability to reach air speeds of more than 118 miles or 190 km per hour and altitudes of more than 8,000 feet.
The flying car also features retractable wings and a large tail, while it automatically converts from a road vehicle to a plane in about two minutes and 15 seconds.

It is the product of pioneering enthusiasm, innovative spirit and courage as well as engineering knowledge and the excellent personality of the manufacturing team as described by the producing company.
The flying car is powered by a 1.6-liter petrol engine from BMW.
It has completed more than 200 take-off and landing maneuvers in more than 70 hours of flight testing.
Klein Vision is also working on a more powerful prototype with a larger 300-horsepower engine, a top speed of 186 miles or 300 km/h and a range of 621 miles or 990 km.
The Klein Vision test complies with the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) standards, and Air Car has been able to achieve impressive static and dynamic stability in flight mode.
Fifty years ago, “the car was the epitome of freedom, but Air Car expands those boundaries by taking us to the next dimension, where the road meets the sky,” says Anton Zajak, co-founder of the project.AirCar completed its first intercity flight in June last year, flying 35 minutes between the international airports of Nitra and Bratislava, the Slovakian city.
The producing company expects Air Car to be able to fly from London to Paris soon.
The project received support from the American aviation giant Boeing, to provide technologies for automatic transmission from a road vehicle to an air vehicle and vice versa. Where Air Car combines the best innovations and safety procedures in line with international standards.
