In honor of Allan Mann Racing’s 1966 lightweight Ford GT concept, and in celebration of their role in the development history of the Ford GT, Ford presented the limited-edition Ford GT Allan Mann Heritage 2022 Ford GT at this Chicago Auto Show general.
Like the original, the 2022 GT has a red exterior with gold graphics and a double racing stripe that extends from the front, with distinctive white stripes and number 16 circles on the doors, bonnet and lower rear spoiler.
Exposed glossy carbon-fibre components are featured throughout, including the 20-inch wheels, front splitter, side sills, mirrors, engine vents and rear diffuser.
Black painted Brembo brake calipers with red graphics as well as black nuts add to the vehicle's aesthetics.
Convertible carbon fiber travels into the cabin and appears on the door sills, dashboard, console and seats upholstered in Alcantara and black ebony with gold and red stitching, while the headrests bear the GT logo.
While the dual-clutch transmissions are finished in a matching red exterior.
Concluding the Ford GT's final year of production, the 2022 Ford GT Alan Mann Heritage Edition honors Alan Man Racing and the support the team provided from England in 1965.
And while neither the GTMK1 nor the AMGT1 ever won a major race, their lightweight philosophy helped inspire the GT Mk II that dominated the 24 Hours of Le Mans in.
