Autos : The Cadillac Lyric is a major launchpad for the American brand, as it will be its first-ever fully electric vehicle. The car was first shown in April of last year and offers 340 horsepower with a rear-wheel drive Ultium platform and a huge 100 kWh battery. Cadillac says it will cover 480 km before it needs to be recharged. And at the beginning of the year, the car went into pre-production, which indicates the company's intention to keep its initial launch date.
The new electric vehicle is being assembled at the Spring Hill assembly plant in Tennessee, which recently benefited from $2 billion in upgrades and will also manufacture a Celtic model. According to GM, an informed source has stated that the first version of Lyric will start appearing on March 21, 2022. It should be noted that this is just a scheduled date that could change under any circumstances, so it should not be considered as a definite. It is clear that production of this exciting electric vehicle will start only weeks from now.
And when opening reservations for the electric car, General Motors noticed that there was a lot of interest in it. Reservations were made for the first release a day later, with all units sold out within 20 minutes. A similar situation was held with the first versions of the electric Chevrolet Silverado. GM decided to open up customer reservations after the first version was officially launched later this month.
