Cars – The previous generation Range Rover and Range Rover Sport came with a plug-in hybrid engine, and was discontinued after 2021. A 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine was offered with a 141-hp electric motor and a 13.1 kWh battery, delivering 398 hp.
But the next generation Land Rover Range Rover Sport is already under development. The car will see the return of the PHEV hybrid. Spy photographers have captured a version of the Range Rover Sport Hybrid being tested for the first time.
And there aren't many visual changes from the last spyware that came out, although there is a bit less disguise on this test version. And with less blur, we get a better look at the slimmer headlights and horizontal taillights. This particular prototype is clearly a PHEV hybrid version, as evidenced by the presence of the charging port door on the left rear bumper.
The previous Range Rover Sport PHEV was a bit slow despite its high horsepower rating. And Land Rover should correct this complaint by giving the next-generation model a larger 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine instead of the four-cylinder. Combined with a 105 kW electric motor, total output is likely to match the full-size Range Rover PHEV's 434 hp.
The battery will also increase from 13.1 to 31.8 kWh, allowing a range of at least 42 miles. The vehicle will also support the all-electric Land Rover MLA platform, and the company has already confirmed that the all-electric Range Rover will arrive in 2024.
