Cars - In 2021, automaker Rimac announced a joint venture with Bugatti, signaling the start of a new era for both brands. Now operating under the Bugatti Rimac name, the two automakers will work together to create a range of next-generation supercars.
And with that in mind, both companies want to create a truly amazing future range of cars. And the new Innovation Center in Berlin will certainly help with that, as the partnership aims to create a design and engineering focal point for future models. The new center will operate under a newly established German subsidiary, known as Bugatti Rimac GmbH.
The new development will be useful in developing the innovations of the new partnership. According to the teaser images, a pair of covered supercars indicates the fact that work has already begun on two jointly developed prototypes. Bugatti said that a replacement for the Chiron models will arrive in 2025. The teaser images reveal an all-new supercar jointly developed to be presented with the successor to the Chiron. Bugatti said the W16 powertrain wouldn't die yet, but with the Rimac effect, the new model could be all-electric or, at the very least, use hybrid technology.
As for the other hidden supercar, its appearance is very similar to the Nevera, which leads to the possibility of a more powerful version of the car on the road. It will be a light version and will focus on the racetracks.
Bugatti Rimac said Berlin was chosen for being a creative and innovative city. The company's headquarters will remain in Zagreb, along with the majority of the staff and other future expansions. Aside from the design and engineering teams, the Germany-based center will house several key departments, including marketing and finance.
Bugatti Rimac CEO Matti Rimac described the new expansion as exciting and indicated that the center would be "deeply involved" in several supercar projects.
